General

Being in a position to teach and train other aviation enthusiast persons, may be bring considerable satisfaction to a pilot, whilst at the same time it will enhance his own abilities and experience.

We are glad to offer you an approved JAR FI rating as per JAR-FCL 1.300. The rating may be added on any valid JAA licence.

Griffon Aviation offers initial FI training and Multi-Engine Instructor Rating as well as Flight Instructor Revalitation and Renewals.

Pre-Course Entry

In order to start the course the following pre-entry requirements must be met (JAR-FCL 1.335):

  • Hold a CPL (A) or completed at least 200 hours flight time, of which 150 hours as pilot-in-command if holding a PPL (A)
  • Met the knowledge requirements of CPL (A) as per JAR-FCL 1.470
  • Completed at least 30 hours on single-engine piston powered aeroplanes of which at least five hours shall have been completed during the six months preceding the pre-entry flight test
  • Received at least 10 hours instrument flight instruction
  • Completed at least 20 hours of cross country as pilot-in-command, including a flight totalling not less than 540km (300nm) with two full stop landings at difference aerodromes.
  • Pass a specific pre-entry flight test with an FI qualified so, within six months preceding the start of the course.

FI course is usually completed on the C150 but any other aircraft of the fleet may be used upon applicant’s request.

The Course

As per JAR-FCL 1.340, the course consists of at least 30 hours of flight training, of which 25 hours shall be dual flight instruction. The remaining 5 hours may be mutual flying (that is, two applicants flying together to practice flight demonstrations). In addition to the flying training, 125 hours of theoretical training must be completed, comprising of flight briefings/ de-briefings and theoretical demonstrations. Upon completion of the course, a flight test must be completed.

Price: €7200 all inclusive
