Pre-Course Entry
Griffon Aviation use the PA34V for this training.
Before a student can commence the Multi-Engine Rating training they must produce log book evidence of having completed at least 70 hours of Pilot in Command of aeroplanes.
The Course
The course consists of 7 hours of theoretical knowledge instruction in Multi-Engine operation and 6 hours of flight training to include the following:
- At least 2 hours 30 minutes of dual flight training under normal conditions of multi-engine aeroplane operation and;
- At least 3 hours 30 minutes dual flight training in engine failure procedures and asymmetric flight techniques.
- In addition, a multi-choice written "in house" examination will be sat and passed comprising questions relating to multi-engine operations and aircraft type related questions. Training will culminate in a multi engine skill test being carried out satisfactory.
